Want to put in a feature request for the Visibility Pane-- what do you think?

In the Key Editor Visibility Pane, it’s incredibly hard to decipher what intrument you have selected. There’s only a rather thin underline, as far as I can tell.

Also, the number of parts you have selected (in a multiple part selection) all appear highlighted prominantly in white.

It’s confusing as to what is active for editing and what is not.

I want to be able use the visibility pane to make sure I’m editing the right notes.

Would anyone else like this? Or am I missing something.

I’ll put it in as a feature request unless I’m wrong and just don’t know how to use it.

Hi,

In the Visibility list, the selected track has the white “selection” background.

The active MIDI Part is shown the very same way, as it is in the Project window. I.e. there is a white frame around and the MIDI Part’s color is black.

Thanks for the info. What seems to be happening for me is: if I have multiple Parts open in the Key Editor and I’m switching parts by clicking on the individual events, the white background for the corresponding track in the Visibility Panel does not update to the new selection. The previously selected part is still active (with white) and the newly selected part is only underlined. The newly selected part is, however, bolder, but only slightly.

Is this the intended behavior?

I can send a little screen capture of what I mean.

Yes, a better visibility would be good. I’m often lost at what is where when I have selected a lot of midi tracks.

Ideally I would even like to see a red outline over currently selected midi notes in the key editor. In a dense arrangement it can be a total mess.

You can do that for Parts. In Preferences. Not sure if it carries over to the Key Editor.

It would also be cool to be able to choose a color other than black for selected events.
