want to remove 10.0.10 update

hi. is it possible to remove the 10.0.10 update? if yes, how?

Use the uninstaller, simply.

hmm… in the wavelab 6 folder and wavelab 8 folder there is an uninstall.exe. neither in the folders of wavelb 9 nor 10.
and i don’t want to remove the complete wavelab 10, just the update on 10.0.10…

the windows dialog in programs & features offers only to remove the whole wavelab 10, i suppose…

The Steinberg Download Assistant app seems to have the initial 10.0.0 installer and the update is separate. You could probably grab the initial version from there:

thanks justin p.

What is not working for you in 10.0.10 and that works in 10.0.0?

well, after updating on 10.0.10 wavelab starts with an empty window.
see the attachment…
behind this empty window is the startup-dialog.
with wavelab 10 (build 22) wavelab starts normal.

in case you missed the bugs in wavelab 10 (build 22) i mentioned in the german forum…in my installation are two bugs:

  1. the faders in the mastersection can’t be linked
  2. the timestretching function in the transport-bar does not work at all .
whereas in wl 9.5 both are working perfect.

well, after updating on 10.0.10 wavelab starts with an empty window.

Erase this file:
\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab Pro 10.0\Startup.ini

and answer “no” when WaveLab ask you to import your past settings.

  1. the faders in the mastersection can’t be linked

This is fixed in 10.0.10

  1. the timestretching function in the transport-bar does not work at all .

This will be fixed in 10.0.20

Philippe

ah, thanks philippe. will try this

no, still the same empty window at programstart

Hmm, then erase the whole folder:
\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab Pro 10.0\

Philippe

done that, still the same

Any chance to update to Windows 10? Windows 7 is not officially supported, we don’t make any test with WaveLab + Windows 7.
Also, are you aware that in less than a month, Microsoft will stop providing security updates for Windows 7?

…sure i know that. but many security experts elaborated convincingly that the risk of being attacked is way overstated and i planned changing to win 10 earliest in midst 2020 when building up a new pc with topical hardware will force me to do that (what makes is more tuff for me changing to win 10, is that i like the look of windows 7, no tiles and transparent window bars).
so changing to win 10 will wipe out this ghostwindow during the start of wl 10-0.10 or 10.0.20?
with wl 10 (build 22) starting, there is no empty window as well…?

Thank you, removing the startup file worked for me!
