I’m trying to get my head around what VST Connect can and can’t do. What I would like to be able to do is run VSTi’s on another PC to reduce CPU load when mixing essentially letting me run more VSTi’s than my computer can by itself. I would be doing this over wifi within my home lan. It would be with 2 PC’s running windows 8.1 with Cubase 8.05 on my main DAW.
Does this work reasonably well? If so I assume I need an audio interface for the 2nd PC? Also I assume I need VST Connect Pro? Hopefully I only need 1 copy or do I need a second copy for the 2nd PC?
Also will I be able to mix down reasonably well? I do use a fair amount of side chaining so will VST Connect cause problems when I want to mix down to audio if I need to do real time mixdowns?
Thoughts and experiences would be appreciated.
