Warning messages

Hi,
Before I purchased the “crossgrade” from MakeMusic, I (briefly) used the free trial.
Perhaps that caused persistent warning messages to pop up.
They begin with “The current preset or project was created with a previous version of…”
One says “Groove Agent SE”, the other says “HALion Sonic.”
The messages conclude with “If you modify the preset using new features of this trial version a previous version might not be able to load it or the preset might sound different.”
Any clues on how to end these?
Perhaps it only happens on documents I first created in the trial version?
Thank you,

Make sure you’ve only got one version of HALion and Groove Agent. Dorico comes with the “light” versions of these apps.

Steinberg also sells full versions (which can be downloaded and trialled separately).

Thank you, benwiggy.
I checked in my Program Files folder (Windows) and found both, and there appeared to be only one .exe of each.

Here is a screenshot of the HALion. It appears to be recent, but I still get that warning popup when I create a new file from the templates.

The other option is that the VSTs, when they start-up, are loading some old presets by default.

Why that should be, I’m not sure. Someone else may know more.

It sounds as if you are still using your Dorico Pro trial license, rather than your permanent license. Run Steinberg Activation Manager, and you will probably see both your trial and permanent licenses there: deactivate the trial, and activate the permanent license.

Hi,
Thank you.
I did run the Activation Manager and found both my purchased and trail versions, and deactivated the latter.
Is there a way to delete or uninstall the trial version?
I only see one Dorico 5 listed in the Uninstall Control Panel.

See, installation and license are two different aspects. There is only one Dorico executable that gets installed and that will behave differently depending on the license you hold. So although all the code is already there, you e.g. only see the Engrave mode when you have the Dorico Pro license activated, but not if you have only the Dorico SE license.

Vanessa, I’ve deleted the trial license from your account, so if you run Steinberg Activation Manager and click “refresh” you’ll see only your current permanent license.

Thank you!
