When working in an audio montage in Windows, clicking on the red‑marked Windows element (the scroll arrows and scrollbar) should move the view forward by exactly one page after EVERY click (scrollbar) or movielike (scroll arrows). However, on my system only the first click behaves as expected. I can keep clicking, but it only moves forward occasionally — and not consistently.
Or is there a shortcut to move the view to the next Temp-Marker?
Strange… I tested it with an audio file opened as a standard audio file. At first, it showed the same unusable behavior — at least at this fine resolution. Then, after zooming in and out a few times, WaveLab 11 suddenly started behaving as expected. Not in the usual Windows sense of moving exactly one page per click, but at least it scrolls continuously when I keep the left mouse button pressed on the scrollbar. This is the behavior one would normally expect when holding down the left mouse button on the scroll arrows.
Now the Audio Montage behaves the same way as well. It’s still different from what a Windows user would normally expect, but at least it’s usable.
This happens if the file is huge and you are in deep zoom mode. More precisely, it happens if the number of samples in your file, multiplied by 32 (which is the number of pixels used for displaying a single sample), is beyond a 32-bit value.
For this kind of file, I recommend using the mouse wheel to scroll.
