I’m experiencing a strange issue where playback in WaveLab, with no plugins involved, is interrupted by brief dropouts (a few milliseconds of silence) approximately every 10 seconds. It almost feels like a clocking-related issue, although Pro Tools runs perfectly under the same conditions.
I’ve encountered this on two different HDX systems, so it doesn’t appear to be an isolated case.
I can’t find anything online about this so I thought I’d drop a line here to see if anyones has experienced something similar?
No, if the HDX driver is used by ProTools it’s not available anywhere else in the system so to be able to use HDX in WaveLab ProTools must be closed or set to not use the same driver. But to answer your question, no ProTools is not open at this point.
I asked this becuase it has been reported that sometimes PT does not fully release the HDX cards after quitting the application.
That might have nothing to do with your situation but … it the system still looking for the PT driver to re-engage with the cards. I’m not running HDX but I have a colleage who does and has come accross this.
I don’t think I understand. Does a virus program target ProTools HDX drivers in Wavelab specifically? Wavelab on the same computers run perfectly with any other audio driver and ProTools runs perfectly on the same computers using HDX or any other driver as well.
