I use Wavelab 12.51 with Avid HDX hardware and Avid Converters. The main output works, but problems begin with the Plugin “External Insert”… I can see a signal on the plug in´s output, but nothin comes in. I have written two times in this forum already and have hoped for an answer from Steinberg - nothing!! Wow — so I cannot use Wavelab at all, because I cannot use the Avid Interfaces as Audio Interface…

which inputs / outputs are you trying to use?
avid is notorious for crippling their asio in order to make you use PT.
for example, in older PTHD cards you could only access first 8 channels of your i/o via ASIO.
maybe it’s still the case, or perhaps they’ve moved from allowing 8 to 16 but still not all are available.

I use Protools HDX Output 1-2 as the main output in Wavelab, this works so far
With the Wavelab Plugin “Insert FX” I want to use Output 3-4 and Input 3-4 on the Avid Interface. Output 3-4 works, Input 3-4 doesn´t route to the “Insert FX” Plug in. When I use Protools, the Insert 3-4 works as expected, so there is no failure on the analog patchbay.

well that’s odd then. it should work.
i just tried some hw insert in wl11.5 - it works with i/o beyond 1/2
have you set your bus for that effect correctly? maybe it has reset to some other i/o by some chance?
