Is there a way to install wavelab elements 12 that picks up all my settings, from elements 11.2. I just installed 12 but none of my settings for master section plugins metadata or file history have been imported. little bit disappointing, but version 12 is awesome, just though i would ask before i spend all nest few days re setting everything up. cheers all phill

no it was on common as im the only user going to try seyttin a settings folder.
On Pro there was a button in the install dialogue which gave me a choice to use or ignore Wavelab 11 settings. Its odd if that wasn’t there for elements.
Aiming for a new clean install I chose not to use the existing Wavelab parameter files (.dat) which are mainly I believe held in the Wavelab WL Global Settings / Preference folder.
Copying these files from the old v11 location to the same folder in the new version 12 may be a quick way of getting your old settings back instead of reinitialising all your old settings manually.
Im playing with this at the moment for retrieving some settings like the master plugins window. Of course this idea might not work if the format of the .dat files used for wavelab settings has changed between the versions. But trying it shouldn’t cause a problem especially if you save the existing files in that location in the new version before the copy test enabling you to put them back if it doesn’t work…
I use Mac but Id be surprised if the Windows version of Wavelab uses any different process in holdings its setting data in the WL Global Settings / Preference folder path.

There is no such button in the installer. But the 1st time you run WaveLab, a message box asks you to import or not old settings. But the procedure is the same for Pro and Elements. Hence I am a bit surprised.
never offered an option, I reinstalled this morning still never offered an option. However i set a preferences folder in 11.2 then just set 12 to the same folder. closed 12 opened 11.2 then closed it opened 12 and master settings all turned up… 
but still had to setup the record in and playback as the names where not there. but its up and running.

Perhaps it was just the setting dialogue, but I did get the y/n Boolean choice of using my existing settings or opting for a clean install. I thought the way the option was presented was the two choices each with a circle where you could select to toggle your option choice. I saw that as a button. So perhaps it’s just my description.
