For anyone that saw the demos at NAMM, did you notice if WL13 channel order for surround formats conform to Microsoft’s specifications like Cubase and Nuendo, or does it conform to the ITU and SMPTE standards?
When exporting, WaveLab gives you the choice between Microsoft (RIFF) and SMPTE.
Thanks! That’s refreshing to hear! Hopefully we get the ability to select in a future Nuendo update!
It might be possible to choose it when exporting but in the audio connections the order is still the Microsoft (RIFF) style ![]()
I am not sure what you mean, because the playback output are freely customizable. There is no “Microsoft/RIFF” configuration for audio connections.
For example, if the Atmos Renderer output a channel designed as “Side Left” per the format, then you decide what that audio output port is used. WaveLab does not preconfigure anything for this.
And anyway, if for any reason you want to remap the audio channels without modifying the audio connections, you can do this with the new MixerDelay plugin.
