Wavelab 13 crashes windows in plugin scan

I can’t even get into Wavelab 13, it crashes windows when trying to scan plugins starting up for the first time. Wavelab 12 and cubase are fine, this is specific to Wavelab 13, I think its during scanning of softube plugins but its hard to tell. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling Wavelab 13.

Any ideas? Is there a way to start wavelab without the scan (note I can’t get into wavelab 13 at all so no way to change any settings).

Try to copy this file:
\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab Pro 12\Cache\plugin-registry.txt

to

\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab Pro 13\Cache\plugin-registry.txt

There is no WaveLab Pro 13 folder, only WaveLab 13 and WaveLab Go folders. WaveLab 13 folder is empty as well. I copied the plugin-registry.txt file to WaveLab Go/Cache and created a Cache folder under WaveLab13 and put a copy there as well.

When I start Wavelab13 it flashes from Wavelab 13 to Wavelab go and back. When it starts it shows WaveLab Go in the Titlebar???

My Licensing on Steinberg says I have licensing for Wavelab Pro 13

This means WaveLab 13 Pro was never executed.

This means the WaveLab Pro license is not detected.

But is the license activated? Show a screenshot.

I entered the code in the steinberg downloader and it shows on the steinberg website in my product list.

Steinberg Activation Manager | Steinberg

Can you try using Activation Manager?

As you can see, you need to activate the license with the Steinberg activation manager.

having the same problem…Wavelab 13 crashes nonstop…I reinstalled Wavelab 12 and it works fine…so I just donated money to Steinberg since I am now greatly dissuaded to ever upgrade again. At least we can still get perpetual licenses; I’m grateful for that. Wavelab is fabulous software when it works
