Wavelab 9.5 not getting past start up screen

Windows 10 fully updated
Wavelab 9.5 fully updated
Nvidea fully updated
Waves, Izotope fully updated (the only plugs I run on this program)
Eliscencer fully updated
Tracer ran, no plugs listed before crash.
Turned off anything that doesn’t need to be on, including AV software (also fully updated) after unplugging from the net.
Uninstall and Re-installed Wavelab 9.54 and update.
Tried different options listed on Stienberg “error” page.
cubase 8.5 and 9.5 still fully operational.

Still getting “wavelab has crashed” windows message after the Wavelab startup box comes onto the screen.
“Wavelabpro9_5.exe has stopped working”
“A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.”

It was working yesterday?!?
Any suggestions I am missing?

The first thing to try, would be to erase the folder
C:\Users[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab Pro 9.5

If that does not work, maybe a crashdump could help.
For this, there is this small file:
C:\Users[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab Pro 9.5\Startup.ini

This file is user editable (double click).
To activate the crash report (Window version only), simply add this text line:

crashReport=true

If this line:
“crashReport=false” already exists, transform it to

crashReport=true

When the crash happen, a dialog should appear to propose a crash dump.

There have been other reports of this and I had a similar problem which was solved by doing what PG is suggesting. Best of luck in getting it running.

Thanks for the help!! The deletion of the entire folder was what fixed it, though my layout/prefs are gone and it took me a little while to rebuild. Something in that folder must have been corrupt.

Hi! Will this work for an iMac because I have the same problem.

Deleting the WaveLab Preferences folder can often clear up issues. I made a short video about it here:

I use Mac so it covers Mac a little more specifically.
