About 15 years ago I used to make a lot electronic music and used WaveLab to reduce the background sounds from audio samples. I cant remember if I bought the version or downloaded a pirated version. I apologise if it was the latter.
About 2 weeks ago I started using the trial version of Pro 13 and then decided to but the Elements version however Im having a few issues.
I cant ‘quit’ from the dropdown file section.
I cant access the ‘preferences’ section from same menu.
Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you’re attempting to select application actions while the “Hub” is still active. You “quit” from the Hub by closing the Hub window itself.
Thank you. You’re not entirely correct or Im unable to explain myself.
i dont know what a hub is. I don’t even know if Im running Elements or the trial Pro 13 still.
Theres nothing in the branding to indicate either.
I am unable to see a ‘solid’ preferences section where I might see what is there regardless of whether a montage or whatever has been created or recently opened.
I always have two Steinlab icons in my toolbar which is annoying too. One is SteinLab StartUp and the other is SteinLab 13 but neither say Elements.
The “Hub” is the main WaveLab window shown in my screenshot with the large orange arrow pointing to the “close” button. It’s the main, default user project interface that launches upon application startup. You cannot use the menu items while the hub is “active” as it’s waiting for you to have a project actively OPEN, irrespective of what’s been created in the past or was recently opened. You must open a project or just click the “create empty” button. If you have activated your license in the Steinberg Activation Manager, whichever version you’ve purchased and activated dictates what version features are applied when you launch the application.
If you’re unfamiliar with what the hub is, I would suggest you go through some tutorial videos on YouTube to see exactly how it works.
