Wavelab Elements 12/ Access Virus Ti Snow Connection

Hello all,

I have Cubase 13 Pro, and my Virus Ti Snow works beautifully in it on Windows 10. I’m trying to connect it so I can play my Virus and record audio into Wavelab Elements 12. I’m using the Nektar Panorama T4 midi keyboard, which doesn’t have direct 1/4 inch jack audio out. I trigger the Virus via USB Cubase. In the ‘Remote Devices’ tab in the Wavelab preferences it’s showing the Virus in the drop down boxes, but can’t get it to record audio directly in in realtime. I presume it’s because there is no direct audio out 1/4 inch outputs from the Nektar keyboard?

Ironically, when I have Cubase and Wavelab open at the same time, I can record into Wavelab! lol.

Could anyone advise?

Thanks.

Your Virus Ti showing as Remote Device means WL is recognizing it as a Midi Controller and not a device to stream audio.

You have provided quite a bit of detail on your post but may be forgot to mention what audio interface you are using, or if you are using this device (Virus) as your audio interface.

You can use the Audio out ports of your tone generator/synth (Virus Ti), choose your Audio Interface inputs as your recording input in WL Preferences and this way you can record audio output from Virus Ti to Wavelab.

Cheers for that.

Apologies. Yes, I forgot to mention also, I’ve connected from the Virus L/R outputs, the 1/4 inch jacks into my RME AIO Pro soundcard into the pc. Yes a bit of a head scratcher. lol! I’m not great with audio connections.

You can assign your RME inputs as Recording Source in WL

Thankyou. I’ll have a look at that later.

Many thanks again! :slightly_smiling_face:

In WL you can create New Montage, assign RME as your Input for your track and record.

And the montage also I never thought of. Cheers again. I’ll get onto this over the weekend, I’ll keep you updated, many thanks! :slightly_smiling_face:

If I was in your situation, I would physically route MIDI from Nektar with a MIDI cable to Virus Ti and record Audio Out from Virus to a WL Montage.

Brilliant! Yes I did connect midi out using midi cables and didn’t get anywhere. I’ll retry again.

Most helpful thanks for your time and patience. lol!

Well after simply connecting the midi out from the nektar, and into the midi in to the Virus, I now have sound into Wavelab! Thankyou again, a simple oversight! One thing I do need I noticed immediately, is a good set of balanced Mogami’s from the Virus into the RME! A little bit too much noise in the audio recording! Thanks again sir, your knowledge precedes you! :slightly_smiling_face:
