I’m curious to know why, when I open Wavelab Pro, it shows Wavelab Go opening up (white background)…I don’t want to use that. But when it opens to the hub, it appears to be Wavelab Pro, so I was ignoring it.
But yesterday, I started a project that is basically just making CDs; about eight 3 CD projects, 3 copies of each for the publisher. So I wanted to see if this new version of Wavelab Pro can make more than one copy at a time. It really doesn’t matter is it doesn’t, just anything to save a bit of time.
I couldn’t find the way to ‘create CD from DDP’, so I consulted the manual and it basically says it’s the same way as in Wavelab 12. The problem is that when I go to File, most of it is greyed out and there is no menu item to Create CD from DDP; not even in the greyed out area. So I’m wondering if this version that keeps opening is Wavelab Go, or is there something I’m missing here.
So what I did was: opened WL13 and when the hub came up, I click on ‘empty’. Maybe that’s not the thing to do.
If I understand you correctly, you see the WaveLab Go splash screen at startup, but in fact, WaveLab Pro opens. If this is correct, I don’t know why. However, WaveLab Go opens if WaveLab Pro is not activated (Steinberg activation manager). If you start WaveLab while pressing Alt, you come to a Selection dialog where you can choose among several derivatives of WaveLab. But as far as I understand, this is not what happens to you.
Concerning the cd/ddp. I guess you are on Apple macOS Tahoe. Accessing a CD drive in macOS Tahoe is unstable. In WaveLab 12, this will cause WaveLab to crash. In WaveLab 13, the function is disabled for this reason. However, you can enable it by running WaveLab 13 in Rosetta mode.
This being said, there is some good news because in the upcoming WaveLab 13.0.30, I found a trick to access the CD drive again in Apple Silicon Mode, without the instability, probably.
This version will be released a little bit later this month.
My apologies for not mentioning my OS. I am on Win10…soon to be 11…trying to avoid it.
You actually had it correct in the first paragraph. I had to activate it. Now it’s working great and all my settings were moved over. I tend to forget this ‘activation’ thing sometimes, but I understand its need. Thanks so much. I’m looking forward to digging into it. Such an amazing program.
