i have one project, that everytime i close it, cubase crashes.
its mixture of audio and instrument tracks with plugin inserts ,win11 cubase 13.
when i close the project, i see the track list names while closing, and the last one before it crashes, its Groove agent SE, but not sure its the one that do the crash.
is there a way to see what crashes cubase on project exit, beside remove plugins one by one and check if cubase crash every time ?
The information should be available in the crash logs. If you post them here, someone could have a look.
Cubase 13.0.21 64bit2024.1.31 17.39.49.810.dmp (3.1 MB)
here is the DMP file,is there a way to read and analyse this for the end user, or you have to be a Computer genius ?
You don’t have to be a computer genius to get the relevant information from the file. Just some knowledge about stack traces is usually sufficient, and you need WinDbg to open the file.
Unfortunately, I can’t find the origin of the crash. There is an access violation in the Windows OpenGL module triggered from within Cubase after closing a window but there’s no further information about whether a plugin caused it.
Does the crash only occur when closing Cubase or can you trigger it in another way too?
cubase crashes when close 2 specific projects (either the close project or quit cubase on those 2 projects)
one of them now closes fine after deleting vsti and 2 plugins that none of them are exist in the other problematic project
update:
on the other project after deleting first: GA5 with electronic set then all insert plugins it still crashed, after deleting another instance of GA with Marco minnemann library , the project closed without a crash !
ill try to test MM library on empty project if it persist crashing, or its only on this project
Update2:
after more testings, its seems that’s not only with GA5 MM library, but many combinations that leads to it, not sure what.
hopefully its not makes it to other projects as its hard to impossible to say what cause the crashes
on all DMP files last hour it refers to opengl on analyses

look up opengl so you know where to start troubleshooting,
No i Don’t
any clue ? it doesn’t say any specific plugin on the list, and i don’t know what to do with this opengl info , i know opengl somehow related to graphics ?
long night of problems !!
now after waves central update and windows update cubase stuck on “scanning vst plugins” forever on startup, some googling, i uninstalled all my wave plugins and installed all again but ver9, cubase finally launched successfully. i tried the problematic project, and now it closed without a crash.(gave me alert that 2 plugins are missing from wave on opening )
then i installed the waves V9 plugins i have, cubase launched , but the project crashed cubase on exit again, shortly it was the Scheps omni V9 plugin that crashed cubase on project close.
also have MV2 V9 on that project, but it won’t crash cubase.
hopefully its the final issue with that !
Edit: updated the scheps omni channel to ver 14, now its all OK
Thanks a lot for reporting that Sheps Omni Channel was the culprit! One thing to add to the solution:
I already had v 14 installed, according to Waves Central so I uninstalled it and installed again. But that wasn’t enough, there was apparently a remnant left somewhere of my previous version, so I need to uninstall that as well. And after install, Sheps no longer crashes Cubase.
