I ran into a peculiar bug today. I’m using a mix of instruments without a time signature and instruments with time signatures in this project so all the time signature changes are local (by inputting alt+enter at the popover.) Since doing that, the top bar selector does not seem to be matching anymore with the time signature changes which makes system breaking correctly impossible. I uploaded a picture here:
As you can see it’s like the selector does not recognise the 2/4 time signature change. I tried deleting and rewriting a few times but it doesnt really seem to work….
It seems that changes in the bar selector only respond to global time signature changes which doesn’t really work for my system. I tried having local X time signatures on the R. 1 and R. 2 as well but that adds small barlines (even when hiding the time signature) which I don’t want. Would love to know if anyone has a workaround for this!
You don’t need the System Track for adding system breaks? Just select anything within your music in Engrave mode and apply a system break there.
I can understand though that the System Track would match the global time signature, with local time signature being the exception to the norm. If you are working on a project where practically everything is an exception, it will get weird of course.
To be honest, in such a project I would just switch off the System Track as it’s no good use in the first place.
The problem is that the system and frame breaks actually reference the system track to decide where to place those system breaks. So if I would place a system break on the first beat of bar 22 (which is what I wanted to do) based on the written notation, what actually happens is I system break on the 3rd beat of bar 21 (according to the system track)
Otherwise, it’s always possible to move the system breaks in Write Mode: select the signpost and press Alt/Opt+Left/Right Arrow, it will move according to your rhythmic grid resolution (regardless of the above mentionned option)
