Weird Cursor/Edit Window Behavior

I’ve had this issue for quite some time, years maybe, but it’s been really bothering me lately. When I double-click to open a MIDI Edit window, whether it’s a drum map or keyboard roll, I lose the cursor and my position in the track. The only way to find it is by hitting start to locate it. As a Cubase user since 1997 and a Nuendo user since 2004, I only began to have problems with this issue like somewhere around late 2011 or early 2012.

I’ve attached pics that will hopefully shed some light. In this particular instance, the Cursor is on Bar 21. When I double-click to open the Drum Editor, it opens at Bar 2 - Bar 21 is not visible. I have to press start in order to find my edit point or the point in the song in which I’d like to edit. This is particularly painful when I’m working on a huge orchestral pieces with scores of instruments.

Is this an issue in Preferences or some other setting that may have been turned on or off? Thanks in advance for any insight!
