Weird Dorico behavior when creating new instruments

I’m creating some instruments for my specific libraries.
I start by creating 2 timbales (14 & 15’). Then I go to setup and assign them to a player.
Next I create a kit and put both timbale in it.
Finally I test this by deleting the player and creating a new player, to which I go to assign the kit.
When doing so I get a whole set of the same kit with different percussion instruments than what I originally assigned to the kit.

Don’t understand what I’ve done wrong.
Any ideas?

I’m puzzled why one would delete the Player with the kit and then create a new Player to use the kit. I’m not sure a custom kit persists when one deletes the player holding it.

Is there a reason not to keep the original player that held the kit?

The reason I do this is to test what I’m creating in order to make sure it works the way it should.
In this case, with the kits, I needed to see what I might be doing to cause the issue described. (Trial & error method)

Looking at the screen shot, you can see on the right of it, that by having selected the Timbale kit I created, I got a whole bunch of variations to choose from. Those variations were not created by me for this one particular kit. As I’m checking, I’m finding that they are previous kits I created for different instruments. I haven’t been able to figure out what I might have done to modify the names with all these kits to the Timbale kit name. This is the weird thing.

I’m also experiencing double input of a single playing technique; in other words: I choose a P.T. and click on the note I want it to be on. As soon as I do that, the P.T. adds itself to the chosen note plus the next one to the right of it. And this is with me choosing only one note.

Thank you for explaining.

OK, now on Dorico Pro 6, I’m continuing to create instruments and kits.
I seem to keep running into the same problem:
Instrument kits I assign to a family category I created, doesn’t show up in the “select instrument” window to assign to a player.

And a kit I did not put in this family category, keeps showing up.

Here are the windows of the Instruments & the family category that show what kits I put in this family category I created.

As it shows, I have 5 percussion kits.
I still don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
Here’s the file I’ve used today:

As of today, Tuesday May 6, I still continue with the same weird issues, now on Dorico Pro 6:
randomly created percussion kits, instrument name changes that don’t change after saving, unwanted family category changes.
I don’t understand why these things are happening.
Shouldn’t all this be straight forward? I spent all afternoon, yesterday just working on organizing instruments, family categories, etc., so instruments I create are accessed easier.
What else am I missing?

I can’t upload the problem file again because of the size, even though I cut it down to just 4 bars.

Hello again,
Now I decided to use the free Orchestral Tools Berlin Orchestra to create a template.
First I thought of using V.E. Pro 7 to create a template of the O.T. instruments; then use it in Dorico. Didn’t work. Only one instrument would playback.

Secondly I used Sine plugin individually for every instrument. Only got up to the Woodwind section ones. In this manner I could play all instruments.
I then created E.M.'s for each. Some of the instruments had the same KS’s so I assigned then an EM that had those KS. Didn’t work.

Thirdly I created individual EM’s. Some started working while others trigger odd notes along with my scored notes.

Finally I realized that the hub view actually somehow has lost most of the projects I’ve worked with lately. Don’t know what caused this.
Here’s a sample file and diagnostics report.
I’m on an iMac with an i9 10 core cpu and 64GB of ram.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
