Weird looking RENDERED audio

  1. See attached screenshot (highlighted in yellow).
When I render and audio event, the rendered file displays as a purple, hollow waveform on a blue backdrop. This looks so weird and hard to discern.

  2. Nothing in the project window is muted.

  3. Checked the mixer, nothing is muted

  4. I tried changing all the display options in settings under User Interface in Cubase 14 Pro (Mac). Nothing helps.

To render, I’m simply selecting the audio event and using the key command (Render in Place > Render with Current Setting).

How can I get rendered files to display a black waveform like the audio event beneath???

Hi,

The Audio Event seems to be Muted.

Hard to be sure with just that screencap and no explanation of how you are rendering but I would hazard a guess the bottom one IS the rendered file and the top one (original) is muted because that’s what you have set in the render in place settings dialogue.

Guys, thanks for your replies. Please see my revised original post above for clarity on my situation.

I SPOKE TO SOON!!!

The problem has returned! HELP!

This is what I have. Looks just like yours, doesn’t it?
The right event is a muted & selected event. Otherwise it is a copy if the left one.

Yeah this definitely looks like the original item being muted and it’s because your previous render in place settings were set to mute source items.
It’s not muted at track or mixer… It’s only the event that is muted.

@Grim i did not realize that it was an event mute issue.
