Weird question : Can a note be sustained during transposition with the transp track

Hello, for example let’s say a MIDI note is holding the note D. at the exact time the note D is going up to F, there’s a transposition happening in the transposition track applying -3 st.
So the new note F is basically playing a D, but since there’s a midi note on and off message happening, I think it’s impossible to tell the patch to keep sustaining the note D like nothing happened.

Can someone confirm ?

You got it right

However, depending on the actual sound you might be able to mask the transition. Perhaps a long release, or a bit of sustain pedal.
