Weird Rests issue

Hi,

I can’t get rid of the full measure rests on this drum part.

Hiding rests doesn’t do anything, and when I go to the 8th rest on bar 6 and try to toggle “starts voice” it toggles itself back off, and “force position and duration” turns on by itself.

Is it some intended behavior I don’t understand? And how do I get rid of these rests?

Try Notation Options>Percussion>Rests at start and end of voices in five-line staff presentation, click on “Do not pad voice with rests”, hit Apply.

This almost works…

Now it gets weird - here’s the before:

There are still rests I can’t get rid of.

And this is what it looks like when I erase all notes:

some bars get full measure rests and some don’t///

Any idea why?

Select the first four bars and Edit>Remove rests works here…

You’re right, thanks - It didn’t before but I guess after fixing the notation preferences it does. Thanks!!!
