What can i use with Black Valve to further enhance my song?

Im using black valve with one of the tracks In my song. Is there any other plugin that would further enhance the sound being rendered by black valve?

I like that it adds alot of color but i dont think i know how to use it

It seems that black valve is sensitivity to volume and gain. For any of the settings i choose there are other problems with certain frequency shooting up way to high but briefly. Other than that it sounds amazing.

Is there an ideal db that I should set the track to or
will the sweetspot for this compressor be different for any else recorded?

Ballad? Honky Tonk? Punk? Soprano and piano? Black Metal Progressive Brass Band Trance?

What genre? What kind of sound are you aiming for?
Some people go for a clean sound, some for a more saturated sound, some, like me, like their mixes burnt to a crisp. They’re all valid approaches.

A clean, wet, somewhat saturated sound.

This is guitar with reverb so i want a clean sound but not a dry and dead sound. This is more like a classic rock sound

Is it a real guitar or samples? And are there any other plugins on the track? Do you send the track to a group for further processing?
Sorry for all the questions!
I tend to use guitar sample libraries, with a simple compressor feeding an amp emulation, feeding a channel strip plugin Since I use 6 or 8 tracks I send them all to a group track, then to the stereo out.
Every plugin in the chain will affect the other plugins down the line. On top of all that, all too often the problem is not where you think it is.

Its just one stereo guitar track with black valve compressor and eq.

This is not a sample

I very rarely use stock plugins - they were distinctly average when I started using them and have used 3rd party plugins for 15 years. So I had a look at the Black Valve. And I don’t think it’s suitable for guitar. Vocals, maybe. Of the stock compressors I’d go for the Vintage comp. This is because you need control over the attack and release times.
I’m off to bed (3 am here), but have a look at this. It’s a bit long, but I think it will give you a good idea of how to progress.
