What did I do (wrong)?

Greetings to the group,

Background:

I have been working on my first Cubase 15 project, a test if you will. I have never used Halion, Groove Agent or any of the other “Instruments” before. Sure, I have Wizzoo drums in my older projects but for all guitars, bass guitar and keys I played them myself so I am at true rookie level with this stuff.

To my issue:

For the past two days I have used some drum patterns for Groove Agent and then found a Piano that was listed in the Key of G. I then created a bass and strings instrument track and used a Akai Mk iv midi controller to lay down those parts. (Note the Akai is also new to me). I have what I think sounds pretty good for newbie so I decided it was time to put down a rhythm guitar before doing some lead guitar.

What did I do wrong? In the Editor it indicates a G , C, D etc. but I need to play an A on my guitar to get close. It’s basically 1 note and some semitones off. I am not sure where to look, Scale Assistant, Transpose? What did I do wrong or not do to have this discrepancy? Appreciate the advice.

Update: I have at least tracked it down to my Motu M2. I switched over to my M-Audio Solo and nothing is off. Hmmm. Does not make sense to me. I will keep poking around but if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks

Sounds like it could be a sample rate mismatch.
Make sure your interface and Cubase is set the same.

Thank you sir. I did and they both matched. I swapped back to the Motu and everything was good. This is not the first time I have had odd behavior with the Motu. I need to figure it out or get another card with two inputs. The days of me needing more than two are gone, but I do need two.
