Hi,

You can enable or disable it. So what is the problem?

There’s no problem, Martin. I just want to know what other users think of it, since this is the first time we’ve had this in Cubase. Nuendo people are used to it I like to believe.

To be honest, if it’s enabled by default I haven’t noticed it until I seen this forum post lol. Non issue for me.

Neither. I just don’t really care.

Thanks for your input guys, don’t be shy to click and vote, we’re not hunting witches here, dislike doesn’t mean “boo, take it back”, but rather a metric of if you are inclined to use it or not now that it’s available.

Personally, I took to using it right away because it helps me with some “difficult” color inversions that happen from time to time. With the outline everything’s very clear now.

(And I really love it when there’s no color at all, against grey and white.)

I like it so much I wish Steinberg would extend it to entire channels.

Sometimes (and this is only recently, since the “new” color scheme was introduced, C13?) I have the hardest time seeing which channel has been selected. This is especially in the MixConsole.

I think the red border around a whole channel there would be awesome!

I’m like a cat - horribly colour blind, so it’s all confusing to me!

Is this something you have to activate? Because I don’t have that…
I don’t think it is a bad idea per se, as it can increase the visibility of select events/parts with darker colors, but tbh there are more pressing UI deficiencies to solve in C14 than that…
It would also help if the color was customizable, as with many other areas.
Edit: just for fun, even if I don’t see it, because a) it is a solid idea and b) not mandatory

It’s on by default in Nuendo, but it looks like you have to turn it on (enable it) in C14.0.20 via Event Display → Highlight Borders of Selected Events.

That would explain why I don’t see it either hah. I’m still just looking for the black colored block in the arrangement to let me know which one is selected.

I love this new feature and even more so that you can easily turn it on/off if you don’t need it. However, I left it turned on as it really helps to spot selected parts! :+1: I LOVE IT!

TBH, I was a bit surprised to learn that a mod from the Nuendo forum claims that Cubase users in general obviously don’t like the Red Outline.

I can only speak for myself - that’s not the case.

Same here :+1:

That thread made for some interesting reading.

^ Right???

It would also be interesting to find out if Cubase users really prefer the inverted colour scheme of waveforms over the non-inverted scheme. I would not want to bet my money on a claim like that. :money_mouth_face:

I like the inverted quite a lot, but only when using Cubase. If I’m using Nuendo, it really bothers me!

Interesting. Id be okay with either scheme to be honest.

That was tongue-in-cheek because I like to pretend I’m a hotshot when using Nuendo

excellent new feature this, I had nuendo many years ago, this is one feature that I missed from it, it makes editing much easier and faster.
