What Have I Hit Accidentally

Hello,

I was working on a mix, added a midi keyboard part to an existing track. Went back to hear track from beginning and the cursor seems to lag, also, a short guitar sample clip plays late, but the its delay comes in where it should be. Other than falling into a worm-hole, I can’t think what I’ve hit/done, or activated in error to get this situation. Any ideas where I might start looking?

It happens sometimes to me too? Maybe it’s a plugin you just added? Usually just restarting your pc solves the issue? But it’s still irritating as hell! Not knowing what exactly caused it?
