For example, I want to automate “Tune” parameter in Kontakt instruments, and I have 500 tracks.
I link “Tune” to a CC on every track, but then there are problems.
- I couldn’t find an easy way to set this information on all tracks at once. I tried a way with fake MIDI ports, but it’s buggy and only works on selected tracks.
Even if you spend 10 hours drawing this controller by hand in each part, there is another problem - when you play the track and there is not an automation point after the cursor, the “Tune” parameter will just reset to a random default value (it will not read any values on the left, even if there is still a straight line of an automation graph under the cursor). It will also reset every time when you pause the playback. I want it to read the last known value of the parameter (on the left in the timeline), no matter in which part it was, where the automation point is and whether the playback is paused or not
UPDATE:
It seems that resetting is an unrelated issue that I encountered multiple times before. Cubase sometimes stores some data inside tracks and there is no way to clean up this data. But creating new tracks helps. However, I would still love to hear ideas on how to organize this kind of automation.
Sorry if my explanation is confusing, this is the first time I feel lost in Cubase.
In FL Studio it’s extremely easy to do - you can just link every instrument’s CC controller to a single automation clip and it’s done.
How to do it in Cubase?
