What is SAM Beta Test Pseudo Update in Download Assist?

Opened Download Assistant this morning and there was a big update.

However I’m being showed an update to install called ‘SAM Beta Test Pseudo Update’ and I’m guessing this shouldn’t be there???

SAM is the Steinberg Activation Manager.

This could be an internal test by Steinberg that was perhaps accidentally rolled out as an official update.
When I try to install the SAM update, I get a message stating that the current version is already installed.

LOL
Like @P.A.T said, that was most likely a little accident.
“Pseudo Update” - I would love to read the release notes. What is a pseudo update? A placebo?

Maybe a rebranding is planned and Cubase will soon be called Pseudo.

Thanks for the report.
That was a preparation for a beta test. Thit it shows up as an update in that place was a side-effect I didn’t expect.
I removed it again. Sorry for the confusion.

And what if you installed it? Mine was installed on one of my machines but then I became curious and found this thread. SAM appears to still work on that machine btw. Am I now a beta tester? :slightly_smiling_face:

No worries. It was the same version that is regularly released via Steinberg Download Assistant and the download pages.

I’m buggered if I’m going to install a beta version of anything without £££s attached.

You have been using Windows for long enough…one assumes you did get the patch of the patch yesterday…

If I did, I didn’t install it, Windows did.

The plot thickens.
