Greetings,
I am working on an arrangement and I need to copy the rhythm section, including chord symbols, to a later section.
I see comments about using the “System Track” and “filtering” the chord symbols to do this but I can’t seem to find exactly how to do this.
I am a long time Finale user and love Dorico…but I am struggling with a few of the differences, to say the least. But my work flow has smoothed out quite a bit moving to Dorico aside from the unexpected hiccups!
Can someone please point me to how to, step by step, copy chord symbols from one section of a chart to another?
Thanks. My failure is understanding the phrase “system track”. What is that in terms of the part in the score, such as the piano or guitar part.
I’m still new with Dorico and still struggling with some of the terms. “System track” is not one I recognize…at least under that name.
I’m used to selecting the range of measures, Alt-c and the move to the new area and Alt-v. As long as the chords were included in the original and they were not filtered out they were copied and pasted.
I am unclear on where to find the “system track”.
I apologize for being dense on this subject.

The system track is the orange (when selected) strip on top here. Gray otherwise. You click the square to the right in the system track to select everything. Note that under View it has to be ticked. (or use alt+t to hide or show)
Well, I actually had narrated some comments with the video, but got a new camera recently, so it didn’t record the VO…
But Jesper explained it perfectly!
If it’s just a few chords, I actually use marquee selection (dragging a box…) around the chords, also works well in galley view.
But for page view and/or many chords, the above technique is best!
