I don’t know what I did to bring up this orange vertical bar, but I can’t get it to go away. What is it?
It’s an Insert mode stop position. Anything after it won’t be affected by inserts done before it. Remove, among other ways explained in the help documentation,by typing Shift-Alt/Opt-I.
