What magic happens in video "dorico Is Better"?

in this video “dorico is better” what magic happens at second 51 ??

looks like maybe a condensing change

It’s just moving notes to a different voice and automatically simplifying the notation.

Yes, this is in a sequence of shots showing Dorico’s flexible arrangement tools. Just before there was Swap, which does as it says on the tin and swaps the content of two staves.

What Ant is doing at 51’’ is changing the lower, longer chords on the top staff into a down-stem voice. Dorico 4 added extra flexibility with “changing voices” processes, by allowing you to use the create/cycle voice key commands (Shift-V and V respectively) that were previously only available during note input, also outside note input. Makes this sort of process much easier, compared to the old menu route!

Thank you Lillie!!!

there are so many new features in each version that I often forget them. eg the ability to change entries with shift-v outside insert mode… brilliant and fantastic!!!

Remember that it’s Shift V to create a new voice; and just V to switch to it, once you’ve made it.
