What would you like to see in Cubasis 4? Let's discuss

Audio editing that actually works as expected when for example adding multiple splits (to create new audio events) to a recording and then doing a trim on the individual events to make them separate files for easy export…

I’d say ‘get the basics’ and current requests implemented before adding new stuff that no one really asked for

I feel that the Cubasis 3 branch has a long way to go and do expect to see 3.9 update around this time next year…

I’m all for fundamental improvements such as more flexible routing and improved audio editing already mentioned, and I’ll add plugin delay compensation.

There have already been some significant improvements to fundamentals made, such as time signature and tempo changes, and some improvement to MIDI routing, support for multi-output plugins and so on. So, I’m optimistic that more will arrive.

I do, however, appreciate that specifically for Android built-in instruments are essential. I applaud that on i(Pad)OS there are now instruments shipped as dual plugin and integrated.

To better support sketching ideas during track‑making, I would love to see the following Cubase features brought into Cubasis:

  • Pitch‑shifting with AudioWarp disabled

Playback speed should directly affect pitch—speeding up raises the pitch, slowing down lowers it—behaving like tape.

  • Snap Point

(Cubase Pro 15.0 Operation Manual, p.630)

  • Hermode Tuning

(Cubase Pro 15.0 Operation Manual, p.1088)

Additionally, the current 2×8 fixed pad layout feels limiting.

It would be extremely helpful to freely switch layouts (e.g., 4×4, 5×5, 8×8), and to have an option where vertical pad movement transposes by a perfect fourth.

I also have a request regarding the Mini Sampler:

When importing audio, Cubasis automatically converts the sample rate to 44.1 kHz. It would be much more convenient if the Mini Sampler supported 48 kHz without down‑sampling.

Lastly, the desktop version already feels more intuitive and efficient than Cubase AI, which makes me even more excited about Cubasis evolving in this direction.

So glad to see that more sophisticated audio routing seems to be broadly desired, so hopefully this thread will help bump that up in the priority list!

I think Cubasis 4 would benefit from the ability to set markers on the playlist for arrangement. Arrangement regions, like in Cubase. Coloring and adding custom text. Copying and moving track regions.

First I really like cubasis, and want it to be good as possible.. my two in addition to the above is more enhancement to the piano roll. Being able to set the grid to more then just triplets or being able to scale selected notes like a picture resize with timings on the x access and cc on the y which are able to go to negative values as well. Greater use of the stylus, especially the barrel roll and pinch for tool selection

Or

Sorry, if someone asked for this yet and I missed it but my personal first request would be an improved level metering system, like in Cubase (input level, post fader, post panner); I find this lack needs to be solved. (I asked for it in the forum a lot of time ago but it seems not to be a priority).

Best wishes,

Art

Obviously, the automation system should be completely revamped. Now it’s inconvenient (if you want to draw automation, you need to record it first, then erase it and draw your own, you can’t just create an automation lane without recording knob movements), limited (no curves) and buggy (doesn’t work properly with some AUv3s like Dagger, crashes the DAW sometimes).

The full ‘Cubase Sampler Track’ in Cubasis 4 would be enough to get me onboard…
…preferably we shouldn’t have to wait that long to get improved sampling capabilities in Cubasis 3.x…

I would like a little more memory to be supplied to an AUv3 instance.. it might help with some crashing AUv3. MicDrop Im looking at you

linked/shared/ghost midi clips (essential for beats and repeating sections). But ideally still in cubasis 3, not in in an unknown future.

with the pitch shifting.. theres transpose. It can be used as well as the time stretch. Its a work around but could be enough for what you want

Id like a sync to icloud feature please

Hi!

  1. Crossfades

  2. Transient-Based Audio Quantize (AudioWarp?)

  3. Routing and Basic Folders to help screen real estate

  4. Metronome bug: when importing a file that needs Sample Rate Conversion

  5. Scroll Bug: when having (accidentally) a selected a track to move, but actually don’t want to move it, scroll gets stuck. Have to actually move a track and put it back to unstuck the scroll.

  6. Lufs

  7. VariAudio / Melodyne?

  8. I’m not sure if technology is there, but I would really love to be able to sync two iphones (Or more) for stereo image recordings (At least), as well as multitrack recordings, all in one host. I know Ableton Link might make the trick if everybody records its own audio, but it would be awesome to pair at least a pair. Just like we can now “use iphone mic” for Major DAWs. Everybody carries a phone and in-built mics sounding better each day. As weird as this feature may sound, apple’s stereo image is DSP intensive, and if one of its microphones fails, stereo/spatial audio is screwed. I’m guessing, since Blackmagic App can handle up to 9 simultaneous multi-cam, could we accomplish something similar with audio? “Sync Record Across Devices”, and “Sync Clips to Controller After Record”?

  9. Good Cloud Feature, but I’m almost for my local NAS.

10 Better automation implementation.

  1. Zero-Latency Console?

  2. Markers

  3. Better exports. Some heavy sessions just can’t handle a good bounce, I end up screen recording for a better output. Empty 1TB iPhone 16 Pro, frozen tracks, Multi-core, max buffer, real-time, etc.

  4. Better gesture implementation.

  5. Tab to Transient.

  6. Dolby Atmos Mixing ( jk! XD )
