An alternative to the Piano Roll, optimised for drum programming. Like Cubase. Audio Evolution Mobile has such a facility and while it’s simple, it’s surprisingly capable.
Auto-crossfading of overlapping audio clips, like practically every other DAW out there.
Easier backup & restore of projects to make it easier to move work across devices.
3rd Party Plug-in support for Android, though I accept this has some tricky technical hurdles given the variance of devices and Google’s unhelpful approach.
Other than that, Cubasis is truly best-in-class IMO.
I would like to see a way of enter a numeric value for Pitch Bend instead of having to guess the position of + or — one semitone, I try positioning a marker of 8192 for zero bend position, 4096 for — one semitone, 12288 for + one semitone,
no matter how steady my finger or pen is I can’t get precise positions, this has always been a time consuming affair.
I would also like to see a feature where I can set two points on the pitch bend track and have it ramp between the two markers instead of manually entering dozens of stepped midi events that don’t always work out without a lot of further moving them around to suit the required bend range and time.
Thanks in advance.
Mike
I just want a performance skin, for live use of Cubasis. Large transport buttons, without RECORD. A Songlist to the side that is easy to navigate. An AutoStop when it hits the end marker. And a way to cue up the next song while a song is playing. Steinberg engineers could probably create a skin before lunchtime.
Cubasis has been doing a wonderful job running our entire live show (audio, MIDI, DMX, and video via external hardware) in front of sold out crowds, and I’d love to see Steinberg lean into this underserved market with Cubasis!
I posted about this in a separate thread earlier, but realise it’s belongs here.
Coming from DAWs on Mac/PC, it’s an issue for me that I cannot route send effect’s outputs to group tracks. Because if I group a bunch of tracks and control their volume with the group’s fader, then their individual send’s output volumes will not be affected, meaning that if I for example set the group channel fader to 0, I will still hear all of their effect send’s outputs unaltered.
There are various workarounds to this, but all of them are inconvenient and time consuming, and none of them realize the true routing concept; all for one, one for all
So, in short: being able to route send effect’s outputs to group channels would be awesome!
(1) PRESETS - Ability to create, save and load presets in a tracks insert. I know we’re currently able to save and load presets from individual plugins, but it would be a great time saver if for instance, on a vocal track, I put a preamp, an Eq, a compressor, a saturator and a limiter. Instead of starting a new chain all over again on a new vocal track, I just load into this new vocal track, the preset chain I saved on the earlier vocal track and just tweak to taste.
(2) PROPER AUX TRACKS - Please we need proper Aux, Fx or group tracks that can be routed or sent to other Aux, Fx or group tracks and where audio and midi tracks can also be sent to them. This is necessary for proper mixing.
(3) GAIN. This may not seem to important but it is useful to have a gain feature in the audio editor in situations where you want to attenuate the volume or gain in a vocal recording that may be too loud and distracting.
THESE FEATURES DON’T NEED TO WAIT TO CUBASIS 4 THEY CAN BE IMPLEMENTED NOW. Thank you
