When I have dorico open for too long (for a day-ish) it gets buggy. Pasting adds to the wrong line, command Z does random things like takes out notes I haven’t touched for hours. I close and re-open, and all is fine. Why does this happen?

Make a diagnostic and send it to Steinberg. Obviously most folks don’t have this happen, so its hard for anybody here to answer why does it happen.
But why have you not updated to Version 5.1.81.2225 (Jan 16 2025)? I think that is the first thing you will be asked to do.
Ok I will look into how to do that.
As for why I haven’t upgraded… I know I should, but I have a fear of upgrading in general because that is how I lost my last computer. Upgrading bit by bit until nothing worked because the hardware was outdated compared to the software. I’ll do that though.
