If the button is green, the processing in this section is heard during playback. If I toggle it to turn it orange, I’m assuming that the processing is not heard during playback, but it is applied to a render. However, that’s not what I’m experiencing. If the toggle is orange, the processing isn’t being applied to a render. The rendering options doesn’t have any master section bypasses enabled:
I misread your initial post. I test with a Hi Pass filter and the plugin is not applied to render according to your setting. Maybe it is a description error same as with previous pane.
I used a Hi Pass and a Pitch Shift Plugin, and on Bypass All Effects, plugins were not applied to render. I could bypass Hi Pass and render only Pitch Shift.
Well it’s good to know that I’m not alone with this behaviour, but I strongly believe that the description of the bypass button for that section is intended, but the operation is bugged somehow. Maybe @PG1 can confirm?
I certainly would want all of the processing in that section to stay bypassed during playback but NOT during rendering. I don’t want to hear the extra peak limiting and dithering there when working. I only use the master section when rendering 16bit 44.1k files for e.g. CD anyway, in all other renders the master section is bypassed in the rendering options.
I’m now not-so-slightly worried that all of the CD-DDP’s I’ve created have gone out without dithering from 24bit to 16bit, yikes…
When there is Pitch Shift on Effects, Hi Pass on Final Effects, Using the Bypass Button (Red) and on Bypass All Plugins from Effects, You can render Hi Pass as how you wanted.
On that note though, the WaveLab Internal Dither plugin will behave as the tooltip suggests. The Internal Dither will not be applied/audible at playback when bypassed, but it will still be rendered when bypassed (you have to deactivate the plugin to really prevent it from rendering). Might need some update.
