When recording Audio I hear the backing even when muted

Hey folks,

Using a Samsung Galaxy Tablet with Cubasis 3 and a focusrite Solo interface.

Imports a backing track
Creates a new Audio track
Hits record after arming the new track.
Playback of the Guitar track has recorded the Guitar and the backing from track 1??
I found a video demo on youtube where the guy has the same issue and could not solve it.

Any ideas?

Could it be a ‘monitor track’ issue?

Could the problem be related to crosstalk (e.g. when using a headphone or similar), or do you encounter a different issue?

The interface plugs directly into the laptop. Then into a set of Yamaha monitors. Nothing else. Two tracks in the project. One armed and I get audio from track one and one he guitar on track two. No bus sends or any plugins at all. Pure audio.
Odd one for sure.

Is your setting similar to what’s shown in the clip?
