Where does the soft license come into the equation?

As far as I know my H6 license is on a usb key.

I’m not sure what you mean exactly. But HALion 6 can now be activated on a Soft-eLicenser as well (besides the USB eLicenser). I’m not sure, whether an Soft-eLicenser compatible license can be moved from the dongle to the Soft-eLicenser at this time. I guess that functionality was supposed to be provided in an update of the eLicenser software.
