Where is the buffer size settings?

Steinberg??? ASIO driver here, doesnt let me change buffer size ? how am i supposed to reduce the latency??? WHAT?

This doesn’t work for you?

What exactly is your problem? Details, please!

BTW, user forum here and also welcome to the forum

Reduce the latency from the Audio Device control panel then Cubase will follow the change.

Hi,

Not necessarily. Cubase is the master and some drivers don’t allow to change the Buffer Size, if some other software holds the value.

You have to call the Control Panel from Cubase (Studio > Studio Setup > ‘driver name’ placed below the Audio System.

My mistake @Martin.Jirsak I meant to say that changing buffer from the audio device panel from within Studio Setup means that Cubase will follow, as you correctly say. Cubase will not necessarily follow changes from the device control panel outside of Cubase.

Hi,

Moreover, unfortunately some poor drivers require Cubase restart after the change.

i have a realtek asio driver and steinberg built-in ASIO driver, im using the latter and cubase doesnt allow to change anything except for inputs and outputs in the control panel, everything else is fixed at 48000 sampling rate.

Are you using a PC with onboard sound ? Which OS ? Generally no good idea to get good latency.

I guess the problem isn’t Cubase, it’s the audio interface. I never had such issues with different external interfaces.

that’s your issue. You really need a proper audio interface to work at low latency on windows. Just buy a cheap 2 channel one and you’ll be good to go… you also need an interface to record instruments/voice/microphones into Cubase.

if you’re just pluging a midi keyboard into a laptop and want to use on board sound, try ASIO4all, that can work OK, or try ‘FlexASIO’ that works great for some chipsets.
