Because this is no new rocket sciences, just a free OpenSource project. You can get the same stuff from Vienna Symphonic Library for many years. Just need to pay for it, not really cheap

Send your questions to the developer, he knows what works and what not…
Yes Will do, and thanks for you time
Hello, I’m unearthing this topic to have your opinions about the same question as of 2024. In short, I have sort of understood a high-end AMD would be better for Cubase than an Intel. What do you think?
This is important for me as I’m planning a big upgrade on my PC regarding motherboard, CPU and RAM. I know what I want for mobo and RAM, the only remaining question is CPU.
AMD will have new CPUs out I think by the end of this month. So you should see better performance with those chips as well as lower prices with the current generation (maybe prices have started to drop already). In addition to that AMD will release some new CPUS in that same new lineup (9000-series) a bit later, like September or whenver it was, and with that a new chipset which means new motherboards. Same socket so compatibility is fine, but the chipset will bring I think a higher floor for features, meaning guaranteed higher version USB and PCIe etc. If I remember correctly.
So if I were you I would absolutely wait until that first wave of new CPUs are out.
Also “new” is AMD saying they will support AM5 through 2027. Of course the word “support” is a bit ambiguous, but as before with AM4 you should probably see at least two more generations of CPUs on AM5 after the 9000-series. AM4 had four generations total and the generation coming this month is only the second on AM5. There are no guarantees of course…
I can’t say that AMD CPUs are currently better than Intel for Cubase though. I’m guessing they’re very close.
Ok, thank you very much. I’m not in a hurry, I can very well wait a few months, no problem.
Still, if there’s anyone out there knowing which is best for Cubase, I’m interested.
