Hmmmmm actually I opened a different project and the audio worked - then I went back to the project I’m working on and the playback options are all greyed out.
Any help mucho appreciated
Trying clicking on that clock-like icon on the left to see it light up blue. That should activate sound for your project.
See here for sound issues.
I don’t think there are any known problems or differences between any of the supported OS versions for Dorico 5; so your problem is unlikely to be related to the OS – which is good news.
It’s much more like to be a configuration issue.
Thanks benwiggy. Would you be able to direct me to where I you think I should be looking to remedy this? I just opened up my project from yesterday and the playback once again isn’t working. I’ve been into device setup and checked that playback through computer monitors is activated but still no luck.

Hi @Nickos_123 maybe as suggested your issue can be as simple as just activate the Project.
And also generally refer to the preferences, where you can tell Dorico how to behave with the activation when opening projects:
Is it only this project? Does a brand new project work? If so, then it’s either the audio activation, as Christian suggests; or you may need to re-apply the Playback template.
I cant speak to your current problem but it is always best to keep macOs updated to the most recent version possible, for many reasons (with some couple months delay allowed because new versions when first released may have compatibility quirks with vst’s; but the current version has been out long enough already). This is simply because Apple essentially has an economic policy that strongly pushes both users and especially developers to use the newest versions, which has benefits because legacy bugs are eliminated from the user base, with the slight downside of having to take some time to do the updates. This “keep everyone on the latest version” push is a huge contrast to the windows world where people run old versions forever and ever and also expect the status quo forever.
