I have a toshiba laptop with windows 7 and i need some advice on what cubase product i should buy to do simple guitar and keyboard recordings? I also want to be able to make drum beats, loops etc. Also what will i need to do to actually record these instruments ie how do you plug them into your computer? Will i have to buy a seperate device?

You want a device with a proper ASIO driver.
Also, the included Cubase AI software will probably be more than you will need to get started.
IMHO Focusrite with the Scarlett series has a lock on best-bang-for-the-bucks at the low end of the market.
