Hi
I couldn’t find the solution to my problem in the forum.
In an orchestral score, suddenly at bar 102, violin 1 and 2 play an eight note duration instead of a whole note.
Here is what I have noticed. In play mode, natural technic appears before the first beat and it also says staccato as you can see on attached files.
I tried many things to solve including deleting entries and write over again this bar with no results.
The only trick that works is writing Arco over the whole note.

It looks like you have a staccato playing technique being used. This will be affected by the Playback options>Timing>Note Durations…
Thanks Janus for your answer. I have tried to change the maximum length for staccato with no result.
It may come from some midi data that came when I have inserted bars from an XML file.
My question: Is there a way to delete or bypass those midi datas.
So far, the only way that works is writing Arco over the first whole note in violin 1 and 2.

Just a thought… Are you using the correct expression map for your instruments?
Try applying one of the Dorico factory playback templates (Play>Playback templates…)
(EDIT: Just to clarify my thinking. The Iconica Sketch Violin default articulation is Staccato)
‘nat’ would work as well, I’m sure. NotePerformer has staccato as an AddOn so if arco/nat work to cancel staccato, it has to be assigned somewhere.
- You can try to re-apply the NotePerformer template. Sometimes that clears up strange behavior or;
- Trim the project down to just those 2 instruments (Save As…) and attach it here or;
- As @Janus suggests, try a stock template (Iconica or HSO).
In the Key editor, see if CC15 with a value of either 3 or 4 (NotePerformer staccato/staccatissimo) is around those whole notes. If so, select and delete.
