it is up to you for sure! (meanwhile if you have the chance to test 2.2.2. I personally installed it and some another issues were fixed there compared to 2.2. say… There aren’t new features in v2.2.2, but fixes only)
Thanks, I will do. I really appreciate how much work is getting put into this. But in the long run the fix to things can’t be doing a new update every week. It just needs to become extremely reliable for LIVE situations, especially the official releases. <3
Happy to report that with the 2.2.31.353 Pre-release on Windows 11, the issue seems resolved.
Note, I’ve made a few adjustments to my system and workflow as well.
- I made sure no other apps were accessing the MIDI Device streaming to the Fantom. In my case a custom USB<>MIDI FANTOM-X driver for windows supplied by Roland (some hacking required to get it to install on Windows 11, the drivers are fine, it’s the installer that needs help). No apps are sending MIDI to this device, nor monitoring its MIDI inputs/outputs but Live2.
- I did a “Help/Clean All User Data” and wiped everything in my VSTLive %Documents% Folder to start fresh.
- I’ve been setting up a Layer and Stack for the Fantom first. Next I do a “create track” from the layer MIDI input popup and then import my MIDI file(s) using the “Import” icon in the second tool bar of the TRACKS tab.
Given this approach Live2 is now allowing me to take advantage of sequences and loops with my ‘out of the box’ instruments. Thanks Steinberg!
Hey, Im having a similar issue. I use program changes to change performance slot on my Kemper. It works well for the whole show, every track starts with a Pg Change. Except this one track. For some reason it WILL NOT send the Pg Chnge. I screen captured the MIDI monitor to show, sends the following controller commands fine but NO pg change.
Any ideas to what’s going wrong here? Maybe its something silly and I’ve just lost my mind?
Ive just had another play through of the show and its happening on a couple of other tracks now. Interestingly if I try to change the position of the pgm change it does not respond. i.e. I type ‘2.1.1’ in the box and press enter, but it just remains at 1.1.2.
Confirmed, that’s a bug and will be fixed immediately.
Hey, just updated to 2.2.44 but still getting the same issues! Was it resolved for this or should I wait to next release?
Could not reproduce with 2.2.44 anymore, I can type any position?
I took a screen grab because this is really odd.
Every time I start playing a song, the initial program change is not sent to my kemper. All the rest of the control changes are sent throughout the song.
If I scroll back to the start and play again it sends the programme change fine. You can see via the midi monitor.
Most songs this error happens. Some it seems to send fine. I cant work out what’s causing this problem?
I had something similar, if you deselect chase on Start in midi preferences the program change will be sent as soon as you load the song. If chase on start is on, this should be sent as soon as you press play but from few versions there is something going on and first few movements of the first bar is not sent.
You could also try to move the midi event (the rectangle in the track view) away from 1.1.1 and back and see if it fix (I fixed it sometimes by moving and back) or tou could move the event at 1.1.2 or 1.1.3 and see if it is sent.
Cheers, Ciro.
Cheers Ciro,
Yeah I tried moving them around a bit but my problem persists! I have also tried with chase events both on and off but for me doesn’t make a difference at the moment. V frustrating!
Chase event ON but chase on start OFF , try this way! Otherwhyse, try to delete event and container and redo it see if it fixes it
