Why does a stereo file get split in 2 Mono files?

Hello everyone!

This sure is a newbies question, but I couldn’t find an answer in the forum:

When I’m dragging a stereo file into a stereo Nuendo track, I get either two split mono files or just one mono_L file.
What can I do to get a stereo file into a stereo track?

In preferences I unchecked the “split multichannel files” box.
But this did not seem to change anything.

Typically I would expect unchecking the “Split” option to do allow the track to import as a stereo file. I would suggest selecting the option to “Open Options Dialogue” for Import Audio files, then manually select the desired option.
