Why does Cubase add extra warp markers?

So in the Audio Editor I go to Hitpoints, hit Create Warp Markers, go to AudioWarp and find all the orange markers created for me. Good.
Now, as soon as I click on the first marker in that event, Cubase creates a new marker at the beginning of the event, and the same happens at the end of the event when I click on the last marker.
Not that it’s super annoying or anything, but is there any advantage to that, that I’m missing? Any particular reason why that’s been implemented? I simply erase them. And is there any way to disable that behaviour?
