I have encountered this sometimes, where I have clearly empty players (and one flow), and when I go to Setup > Delete Empty Players, Dorico believes there is nothing to be deleted! See this error message and then all the many empty staves:
Now, one might assume there could be hidden data such as signposts or automation, but in the case I have seen this happen, there is nothing, all staves have been wiped clean. It’s not a huge deal to select the ones I see which are empty and manually delete them (this screenshot is obvious), but in a dense score it can be much less obvious at a glance, and confusing to be told there are no empty players when I know for a fact there are a few…
No, nothing really out of the ordinary in terms of clefs, meters, keys, or hidden anything… I was in the process of shuffling things around in that particular project but I am pretty sure I can retrace my steps to get to that point where I got the dialog box - and I will upload the project soon!
Apologies, user error! – my orchestra template has a hidden “sketch” flow which I sometimes use to try things out, but by default I have it deselected from my “full score” view - so I completely forgot it was there since it’s not normally visible. Clicking there I realize now I had some hidden music etc. I’m sorry for wasting your time!
