Why does First page formatting differ from subsequent page formatting?

Here I have :

  • no items in my flow heading and
  • first page format and
  • default page format is identical .

Yet Dorico insists on indenting my first page downwards.

Why?

(I feel I’ve asked this question before but can’t find the answer ).

In Layout options, set flow headins to never show, or in this case not for first flow since you have only have one., instead of show for all flows. Then you may want to change the value of the Top Music Frame Margin.

Thank you. That’s exactly the answer I was looking for!

Actually I’ve found its not the ‘Top Music Frame Margin’ that I need to set to zero but “Flow Heading Top Margin” further down on the same layout page. And there is a little bit of complexity there also (although it didn’t affect me. )
