I think it has something to do with maybe the preferences. Where you choose the power settings or refresh or HZ .. I’m not savy there so.. if anyone knows what causes the audio to start skipping or go blank for any amount of time..it does it when I perform some tasks like move a midi part or audio clip or add audio inserts plugins..it dies out for awhile and then comes back on..like it’s catching up to something
Hi there! It’s one of those problems that initially requires some investigation regards your device capabilities, your PC/Laptop/Mac…and audio interface.
I would downloading LatencyMon (Home Edition) v7.31 which is free.
This small app will perform thorough analyis of your devices.
Also press F12 to check the cubase performance meters whilst running your project.
It’s also quite important to disable all unwanted app and programs that start automatically when your device boots up. Use Task Manager in Windows to disable startup programs.
Set power settings for your device to as high as possible in all areas. Disable anything ever becoming idle, or resting, shuting down etc.
It also completely depends on exactly which plugins you are running within a project.
Investigate your device first of all. Happy to help if you can provide more info
I increased everything in the Behringer UCA222 Audio Interface and it helped a little it doesn’t skip as much or as long..Maybe another audio interface may help..I have 2 others.. one is a small Steinberg interface and the other is built into my Zoom multi effects pedal.. I’ll try those later this week. Thanks
Possibly, but unlikely. You should try @Oliver_Manhood 's suggestions to help sort out the root cause.
Also are you by chance using an NVIDIA graphics card? If so there are 2 drivers for it, gaming & studio. The gaming driver can cause performance issues for DAWs, so try switching to the studio driver if you are on an NVIDIA card.
I have a stock Dell optiplex 9010 Windows 10 plenty of space on SSD C: drive
You know when I think about it I’ve had Cubase for like 10 or so years and when I first started using it I may have had this same problem. I think either in Cubase 15 pro or the computer there’s something that gives you an option to change something from 24,000 HZ to 48,000hz to 68,000 HZ or something like that..it cured my problem back then, possibly with cubase 8 entry level.. another one is the buffer either in a pane in Cubase 15 pro or the audio driver..anyone aware of this let me know please
Another problem I don’t understand is when loading certain 3rd party plugin into the projects plugin insert pane, it blocks turning the plugin on.. it’s stays “off”
