Why is my MIDI Pattern only playing 2 bars?

Before me I have a stock Pattern loaded into Groove Agent 5 and I am looking at the “MIDI Drum Editor” (found under the button Pattern) . Clearly there is a drum pattern lasting 8 bars, but the pattern insists on repeating only the first two bars. There are two handles, start and end, but these have no affect.
I can’t seem to find any way of influencing this. How do you define how long a pattern is?
