Why no ramp mode for automation line?

I know I can do it in the keyeditor, but Cubase does not have the ramp mode for drawing automation? come on guys…

It does have ramps. How do you get to be under the impression that it does not?

how? have googled a lot and it cannot, like if you click once on automation lines, it makes step not ramp, and there is no option for that. I know you can change step and ramp in key editor for cc but with automation you cannot. beat me bro

Automation lanes have bezier curves by default. Insert a couple of points and you can change the curve. All depends on quantise values, I think, I may be wrong.

Also, have a look at the reduction level if you draw curves manually (F6 = Automation Panel > Settings).

You can also use the “touch” option and write in automation nodes with the pencil tool, and move the node with the object selection tool to make ramps. But thr line tool is the easiest.

The behaviour depends vastly on a setting in the Automation Panel: Use Virgin Territory

If this is activated single clicks with mouse will create single points of automation.
If deactivated the way between two automation nodes is always ramped.

Without using Virgin Territory you can achieve both pseudo steps and ramps, depending on where you click. Of course, the parameter, that you try to automate, must not have stepped values only.

You have the Object Selection Tool. You hold down the Alt/Opt key as a modifier.
when you click in the empty space on the lane you’ll get a stepped automation.
If you click and hold onto the line with pressing Alt/Opt you create a ramped automation.

The steppped automation is actually not stepped. It just creates two automation nodes. In reality all automation is ramped.
