Why not a global color palette preset?

Why manage only Project’s palette of colors, why there is no global preset for colors (by name, type of instrument etc as user would like to sort) ?
It’s a pitty

Do you mean a soft yellow that you can name “Tuba”?

I don’t get it

Yes I mean have presets for Project’s colors, we can only put an internal palette of colors for the current project, we can’t use the same palette for another one, it’s really anoying

Hi,

you can use the Project Logical Editor if you want to colour code specific instrument groups, FX and whatever you like. Once you have set it up it’s only a click away and, of course, you can use it in all future projects.

Here’s how to do it:

Addendum: Bonus info in case you don’t know. You can edit the palette of available project colours under Project/Project Colors Setup. Once you are done save this Color Setup as a default. Now it will apply to all new projects.

I think this request is really only about making color palettes available as an “per installation” preset rather than to tie them to a project. Currently there is just one global color palette - the “default”.

@Johnny_Moneto Yeah, you might be right about that. The OP wrote that he’s looking for global colour sets that refer to “names, instruments”. The approach with the PLE would colour all instrument groups accordingly by name via assigned key command. I’m not sure though if this is it. To quote the monk with the hunchback (The Name of the Rose, Umberto Eco): “Me know nothing, stupido, stupido.”

My workaround is, I have selected my color set customized and named certain colors for instruments and saved it as default color set. So all new projects start with that same color set. I also saved it as a project for back up just in case I need to import it again.
